Some of the people who are most enthusiastic about Chinese New Zealand history are young Chinese. We think it's important that they see their experiences as part of a continuum of Chinese New Zealand experience.

Our long-term aim is to include contemporary voices: our way of saying that history is for everyone, especially the living.

Creative arts students at Massey University relive what was for some of them a compulsory childhood exercise routine in their performance piece “The Rising Sun”. With upbeat music and looking like an 80s aerobics video, the piece invites viewers to consider different ideologies and ways of looking at things.
